Funeral Blues

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
*from the movie
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

-- W H Auden

I was watching 4 Weddings & A Funeral last night,
It seemed like a typical love story
nice ending to it - in the end they get married.

BUT it got me wondering is there such thing as
love at first sight?
In the movie Charles (Hugh Grant) instantly fell in love with
Carrie (Andie MacDowell)
when he first saw her at a wedding
just that he doesn't know it..yet

They met up..had..sex..
and the girl left come morning
Now i'm beginning to wonder

How do u differentiate love or lust at first sight?

There's none.

U see something because u like it,
and at that pang of the moment u realize that u could love him.
Lust is something u feel only for a moment
but Love u know it will last.

Love is when u do crazy things
to choose someone u know u can't
and u wait till the time comes,
just to be with him
Only then will u know the power of Love.

Oh about the poem above,
just felt it sounded beautiful..ain't it ?
